The Indian Himalayas offer a few treks routes where you can stay in lodges throughout (or with a couple of days of camping) the trail. Take yr sleeping bag and GO! I did :)

 1. Singalila trek - Darjeeling. Manebhanjang-Meghma- Garibans-Sandakphu, Phalut. You can stay in govt log houses all the way- The closest to Nepal style trekking. Good food, great views, forests, wild life and if you go in May, Rhododendrons all the way.  The view from Phalut is unparalleled. Mountain Vista - Kanchendzonga and the Everest range. AWE promised.

2. Pindari Glacier Trek- Dhakuri, Khati have  guest houses. Dwali and Phurkia - reach early to get a bed. Start early for Pindari.

3. Gaumukh Tapovan Trek via Bhojwasa - once you go beyond the pilgrim trail and cemented paths, the views are spectacular. Mt  Neelkath is yr spectacular companion on this trail. Govt log hut( sometimes really crowded)
